MHM (Menstrual Hygiene Management)

In Rural areas adolescent girls are facing problems at the time of menstruation. In this regard we are formed core group adolescent girls of 30 members, PORD team trained these core group members on menstrual management, these core group members are trained 8000 peer group members from past 4 years. We are provided awareness to the peer group members on menstrual management through this we are succeeded to bring their behavioral changes. By discussing openly and by explaining that it’s a natural process in life, they all are discussing openly and explaining to others about the practices at the time of menstruation. In this programs explaining about the importance of daily bath, usage of napkin/cloth and disposal system, used cloth has to wash and dry it in sun light.  In villages most of the adolescent girls are suffering with the white discharge and uterus problems due to improper hygiene practices at the time of menstruation. Through flipchart we are providing the awareness on menstrual management.

Apart from this menstrual management system, we are concentrating on ISL constructions, for this we have formed a group of 15 members they all are trained on the benefits with the usage of ISL and problems with the open defecation. Through this programme we have provided awareness to the community people and children. With these activities we are succeeded and motivated people to construct their individual Toilets. Under this Swach Barth program we are sensitizing District level community people to construct toilets and make it use.
