PEOPLE ORGANIZATION FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT

PORD  ( People’s  Organization  For  Rural  Development )  came into  existence  and was duly registered  under XXI of 1860  society’s  registration  act  on  25th  November 1992. Thamballapalli is 110 kms from Chittoor district headquarters.  It is in the border of Karnataka, Anantapuram and Kadapa. PORD mainly focused on to work on child protection issues like child labor and dropout children mainstreaming in schools and hostels, stopped child marriages, child trafficking. Organized many programmes for children to improve their skills. The main object of the programme is to improve the girl child education with the support of Mandal and district officials. Water, Sanitation and Hygiene activities, the main objective of the programme is to improving the status of the community to enhancing the availability of safe drinking water and sanitation facilities with the specific concerns of the women and children in Chittoor district”

OUR VISION

“Ensuring dignity of women & children through – uniting and strengthening of CBO’s from villages to mandal level and enabling them to take up their issues, advocacy with government to protect women & children rights, making people and civil society take responsibility to protect women & child rights through social justice, Gender equality to lead their dignified life.”
